Welcome. I’m happy to see you here.
Jim Anderson
Therapist
I am Jim Anderson, licensed Therapist in North Carolina.
LCMHC, LCAS
Parent Coach
I have been in various administrative and clinical roles in my (21) years since graduating with a Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School in 1996. I currently hold a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina; Prior to entering
private practice in 2006, I was a co-owner of two substance abuse facilities in Charlotte and Mooresville, NC, and have been an outpatient director for both substance abuse and psychiatric facilities.
Scope of Practice & Populations Served
In 2006, I formed Conscious Sense with the intention of focusing in four specialty areas:
substance abuse; sexual compulsion & other sexual disorders; couples’ therapy; individual therapy; and spiritual growth & development. I am available to serve both male & female adults and teenagers (over 16, and with parental permission and participation). I also am very interested in meeting the needs of minority and under-served communities, regardless and
inclusive of race, gender, sexual orientation, sexual identity, religious, or national origin. I, however, am only fluent in English. If your needs fall outside my scope of practice, experience, or competence, I/we may discover the need to refer you to more appropriate services, which I will assist you with, unless you indicate otherwise.
Services, Fees, & Payment
The following chart represents the length/type of clinical service and associated fee structure:
Collaborative Divorce Coaching: $200 per hour.
Individual Therapy: $140 per hour Group Session (75 mins): $40
*Should you find these fees unaffordable, please feel free to inquire about a sliding-scale
‘financial hardship’ allowance.
I am a ‘fee-for-service’ clinician, meaning I do not contract with, or accept insurance payments. However, I will provide you with an itemized receipt-which, if you have insurance, you may pursue as an out-of-network benefit, and/or submit to your health reimbursement plan, should
you have one. I do accept the following forms of payment at the time of service: check, cash, credit card, or health reimbursement card.
Communication Policies
Generally, all of our clinical work should be done in our individual meetings at my office.
Communication outside of these appointments should be non-clinical in nature (scheduling,
etc.) or be a clinical emergency. Preferably, all communication outside of the office space
should be done via phone or confidential voicemail. If you give me permission on your intakeform to use email or text, it should be a private, confidential email/phone, and strictly for nonclinical communication.
